Ultrasonic Paper Cup Welding

Welding principle of ultrasonic paper cup welding machine:

When ultrasonic waves act on the thermoplastic plastic contact surface, high frequency vibrations of tens of thousands of times per second are generated. When it reaches a high-frequency vibration of a certain amplitude, the ultrasonic energy is transmitted to the weld zone by the upper weldment, and a local high temperature is generated due to the large acoustic resistance at the weld zone, that is, the interface of the two welds. Moreover, due to the poor thermal conductivity of the plastic, the hot gas collects in the weld zone, causing the contact faces of the two plastics to melt rapidly. At this point, the device is pressured to fuse it into one.


When the ultrasonic wave stops, let the pressure last for a few seconds to solidify it, thus forming a strong molecular chain for welding purposes. Its welding strength can be close to the strength of raw materials.


The quality of the ultrasonic paper cup welding depends on the three factors of the amplitude of the transducer welding head, the applied pressure and the welding time. The welding time and the weld head pressure are adjustable and the amplitude is determined by the transducer and the horn.
